Medina, Ohio - The Brunswick High School Men's Soccer Team brought home the Noah Kotlarek Champions Cup for the third straight season, by the score of 3-0, over the Bucks of Buckeye High School. Brunswick improves to 5-1-3 on the season, while Buckeye drops to 2-7-1.

Brunswick now owns the historical series between the schools by a 6-0-1 record.

Prior to and during the game, the schools continue to play for Noah Kotlarek. Kotlarek is a sixth grade Buckeye student, and an avid travel soccer player in the Buckeye youth program, who has been battling cancer for the last three years. The teams have continued to come together to raise funds for the Kotlarek family, as well as a toy and blanket drive for Akron General Children's hospital. Donations as of post game approached ten-thousand dollars between the two recipients.

In the first half, both teams struggled to get much going as the surface was challenging for both sides and defensive intensity was very high. However, a Brunswick corner kick with just over 10 minutes remaining gave Brunswick the lead. Senior captain and midfielder Owen Beskid played a superb ball to the back post that Tyler Bradbury nodded down and past Hunter Uehlien for the 1-0 lead. The goal was the first of the sophomore defender's career. Brunswick took the lead into the halftime interval.

In the second half, Brunswick ratcheted up the pressure and earned another corner 90 seconds in. Beskid, again the provider, found senior forward Matt Reppa who touched the ball into the net for the 2-0 lead. The goal gave Brunswick confidence as chances became far more frequent. That confidence paid off in a third goal with 15:28 remaining. Junior forward Artur Vasylkevych nodded a punt from Eli Hyde through the Buckeye backline to sophomore midfielder Martin Klenjoski. Klenjoski raced towards the penalty area and chipped the goalkeeper for the 3-0 lead.

Head Coach Ben Dotson named Bradbury Man of the Match. "Tyler was absolutely brilliant and has been for weeks. He has been very strong, winning all of his aerial duels, but what a special first goal of his career. We were struggling to be dangerous in the final third, and coming up huge on a set piece completely changed the game. What a great moment for him!"

Dotson continued, "However, the real story was more about the reason behind the match. In a week where the world desperately needed some positivity, Buckeye and Brunswick High School led the way supporting an amazing young man. Noah is a fighter, and we will continue to fight along with him the best we can. That young man is an inspiration to the world with his courage, we are all inspired by him."

Hyde collected five saves in the win, earning his fourth clean sheet of the season, as his season record stands at 5-1-3. Uehlien takes the loss, despite a fantastic game, making six saves.

Brunswick next plays when they travel to Cleveland Heights for Week 3 of GCC Play. Kick-off is scheduled for 7:00 PM from Denison Park versus the Tigers.
