Brunswick, Ohio — In the first ever meeting between the two programs, Brunswick and Akron North battled to a hard earned 0–0 draw Thursday night at Brunswick Auto Mart Stadium. The Blue Devils, now 3-3-4, delivered an inspired performance against an Akron North squad sitting atop the Akron City Series standings and entering the night having scored 19 goals across its last four matches.

Brunswick controlled much of the evening, dictating tempo and generating the better chances. The Blue Devils outshot the Vikings 13–8, including a 6–3 advantage on goal, while their defensive organization consistently frustrated a normally explosive Akron North attack.

Akron North’s best moment came at the 30:35 mark of the first half, when senior goalkeeper Artur Vasylkevych produced a spectacular double save — first parrying a driven set piece strike, then springing up to smother the rebound — to keep the match level and preserve his clean sheet.

Junior midfielder Martin Klenjoski earned Man of the Match honors for a creative, composed outing, driving Brunswick’s possession and sparking multiple attacking sequences throughout the night.

After the match, Coach Ben praised the team’s response:

“I’m really proud of an inspired performance. After a tough few games, we continued to play hard, limit chances, and we felt we were the better team.”

Brunswick returns to action on Saturday, hosting North Ridgeville at 3:00 PM at Brunswick Auto Mart Stadium.
