Brunswick, Ohio - The Brunswick High School Men’s Soccer Team fell 1–0 on Tuesday night at Brunswick Auto Mart Stadium, dropping a tight Greater Cleveland Conference match to Cleveland Heights.

It was Cleveland Heights first win ever against Brunswick, which Brunswick still leads 3-1-1.

The Tigers scored the winner just 11:10 into the game when Brock Mueller found space at the top of the attack and placed his shot inside the far post for the decisive goal.

With the result, Brunswick moves to 3-3-3 overall and 2-1-0 in the GCC. Cleveland Heights improves to 6-2 and 2-1 in conference play.

Brunswick responded with long stretches of possession and pressure, outshooting Heights 4–2, but could not find the net and was shut out for the third straight match. Fin Mouncey kept the clean sheet for Heights, making four saves. Senior goalkeeper Artur Vasylkevych made one save for Brunswick and takes the loss.

“I’m frustrated for our kids. They’re doing everything they can to get things moving in the attacking end, but we’re in a slump right now and we’ll have to fight our way out of it. I have complete confidence we will,” said Head Coach Ben Dotson.

Around the GCC, Shaker Heights earned a statement win, upsetting Strongsville 3–1 to take the lead in the conference race. Mentor defeated Euclid to improve to 1-2, and Riverside beat Lorain to move to 1-2 as well.

Brunswick next plays Thursday night, as they welcome Akron North to Brunswick Auto Mart Stadium for a 7:00 PM kick off.
