Brunswick, Ohio - The Brunswick High School Men's Soccer Team won tonight by the score of 9-0, over Lorain, in Week 2 of Greater Cleveland Conference play. Brunswick improves to 4-1-3 on the season overall, and 2-0-0 in the GCC. Lorain, in their inaugural season in the GCC, drops to 2-6-1 and 0-2-0 in the conference. Brunswick celebrated the careers of 10 seniors. Owen Beskid, Miroslav Milanovic, Eli Hyde, Victor Lazar, Hudson Butler, Kai Piskach, Isaac Steele, Nathan Angus, Matt Reppa and Xavier Wypasek were all honored prior to kick-off.
In the first half, Brunswick wasted no time in taking the lead as Beskid scored the game winner just 3:42 into the match off an assist from Matt Reppa. Also scoring in the first half was Lazar (2), Artur Vasylkevych, Reppa and Beskid added another for a 6-0 halftime lead.
In the second half, Brunswick tacked on a few more with goals Angus, Milanovic and junior Kaden Tibbs.
Hyde collected one save in the win, earning his third clean sheet of the season, as his season record stands at 4-1-3.
Brunswick next plays when they travel to Buckeye for the Noah Kotlarek Champions Cup, which is played while honoring a Buckeye sixth grade soccer player, who is battling childhood cancer. Kick-off is scheduled for 7:00 PM from Buckeye High School.
